Originally from a small town in Germany, Executive Chef Ryan Burnham seemed destined to lead the kitchen at the Goldener Hirsch.
As a child he lived and experienced the cuisines of Germany, Italy and France before moving to Washington DC and its melting pot of cuisines. A graduate of the University of Utah and the California Culinary Academy, Chef Ryan has helped open restaurants in iconic hotel properties such as the Clift Hotel’s Asia de Cuba and Alfred Portale’s Gotham Steak in the revitalized Fontainebleau Hotel. During his fifteen years in the Park City area, he has contributed his talents to many of our most recognized establishments including the Glitterand, Wahso and Grappa.
Chef Ryan truly embraces the farm to table philosophy, featuring fresh, locally-sourced products in all of his menus. He creates delicious, innovative meals in addition to the Hirsch’s renowned cheese fondue, wiener schnitzel, apple strudel and his very popular après ski dining selections and drinks. The award-winning Goldener Hirsch cuisine has been repeatedly recognized for its excellence by Wine Spectator, Condé Nast, Open Table and, most recently, as the Best of State.
